A Blessing Prayer For a New School Year
We pray to you loving God,
For all these children entering our doors this week;
Through your Spirit working in us,
May their fears and worries melt before our care and welcome.
May their curiosity and desire to learn, be satisfied through our efforts to be the best teachers we can be.
May their innocence and joy be cherished and appreciated as Kingdom qualities.
May their stories both painful and happy be heard through our patient listening.
And may their hunger and thirst for the things of the Spirit permeate all that we do and say, so that they may come to know you, loving God, as the divine life within them.
We ask all this in the name of Jesus your Son and our brother, Amen.
